Lifestyle

Variety is the spice of life, whatever your age. We want our residents to have the opportunity to explore a huge range of hobbies and activities in their new home.

Our home offers a wide range of imaginative and inclusive activities. So, whether that’s pottering in the garden, being creative in our arts and crafts sessions, cooking and baking, enjoying a sherry after a walk in the grounds or watching a movie with new friends, there’s something for everyone.

Cherry Garden Nursing Home has a dedicated team of activities coordinators on hand to create a social calendar filled with fun and engaging activities, and not only for our residents – friends and family are more than welcome to join in too. Have a look at our monthly activities schedules which will give you a taste of what we do.

We also publish our monthly newsletter. Feel free to have a browse and let us know if you would like us to add a nice quote, story, picture or perhaps a challenging quiz or task.

As active members of the local community, we welcome a variety of visitors to our Home to share their enthusiasm, knowledge and experiences with our residents. This ranges from visits from local school children, a local Polish group of traditional dancers and singers plus other local entertainers. When the weather is fine we will often take residents to our local pub, The Shire Horse, for a drink and a chat. We also like to have Afternoon Tea at Stubbings Garden Centre. We regularly schedule trips with a minibus, enabling residents to take trips to the shops, places they’ve long enjoyed visiting or to explore new destinations. We have taken a group of residents on a river cruise on the Thames at Henley-on-Thames, an afternoon packed with fun and laughter. Please have a look at the Home’s Facebook page, which is updated regularly to keep you in touch and to share our wonderful experiences.
